Aims & Scope

Utkarsha: Journal of Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies (UJSII) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published biannually, in June and December, by Yayasan Hayatul Qur'an Indragiri since 2026. The journal serves as an academic platform for the development of Islamic studies through the publication of both library and field research.

UJSII publishes studies covering various aspects of Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies using textual, historical, and empirical approaches. The journal addresses the development of Islam in the classical, medieval, modern, and contemporary periods.

Methodological Approach

UJSII welcomes both library research and field research using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods. Submitted manuscripts should demonstrate clear methodology and meaningful contributions to the development of Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies.
